The Judge Review

The Judge, starring Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man, Less Than Zero) and Robert Duvall (The Godfather, Jack Reacher) is a courtroom drama that focuses on the estranged relationship between Hank Palmer (Downey) and the titular judge, Joseph Palmer (Duvall). Han is a big-city defense lawyer called to the small town he grew up in after his mother died. He reconnects with his family however during his visit, his father commits a fatal hit and run but doesn't remember anything about the event. The judge hires an inexperienced lawyer and his case ends up going to trial after the lawyer messed up at the preliminary hearing. Eventually Hank decides to be his father's lawyer but Joseph is keeping secrets from him. Secrets arise and tension within the family explodes. The Judge is a touching family drama with an interesting premise and fantastic performances. And don't worry because you still get the Downey wit and sarcasm we always love to hear. Frankly I don't understand why critics have been so harsh on this film. It is a great and touching

film.
