The Wedding Ringer Review

Kevin Hart is arguably one of the most famous comedians at the moment. He's starred in blockbusters such as Ride Along (which is also getting a sequel made) and also is getting prepared to star in a bunch of other films. Josh Gad has also made a name for himself after playing the lovable Olaf in Disney's Frozen. Since then, Gad has starred in FX's The Comedians alongside comedy legend Billy Crystal, Pixels where he also stars with Adam Sandler and Kevin James, Angry Birds the movie, and in the live-action remake of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Both Hart and Gad star alongside Kaley Cuoco-Sweening of the Big Bang Theory. In The Wedding Ringer, Doug (Gad) is getting married to Gretchen (Cuoco-Sweening) who is way out of his league. Unfortunately, Doug has no best man. Or any groomsmen for that matter. His wedding planner directs Doug to "The Best Man Inc." which is run by Jimmy (Hart) who in short gets paid to be a best man and have people act as groomsmen. Doug hires Jimmy to perform a "Golden Tux" package which means Jimmy has to hire people to be groomsmen and be the best man as well. The Golden Tux has never been performed so the whole gang takes extreme measures to make sure everything goes smoothly which of course it doesn't. The Wedding Ringer is not a film for the easily offended. Hart makes fun of almost everyone and everything. He's stated that he's had the most fun working on this film because it shows the type of comedy he's famous for, so if you are familiar with Hart's style of comedy, you know what to expect. The Wedding Ringer has its moments. It really shows that Gad is more than a talking snowman. Is the movie predictable? Yes. Is it funny? Yes. You won't regret watching it.
