Entourage: The Movie is a continuation of the acclaimed HBO series which ended back in 2011. Demand for a film increased over the years and soon, production was underway. Vincent Chase (Adrien Grenier) and his entourage made up of best friend Eric 'E' Murphy (Kevin Connolly), brother Johnny 'Drama' Chase (Kevin Dillon), driver Salvatore 'Turtle' Assante (Joey Ferrara) and foulmouthed former agent Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) are back. The film takes place alost instantly after the show ended. Vince divorced from his wife after just nine days of marriage. Ari Gold has come out of retirement to become studio-head. Drama's cartoon show is cancelled. Turtle's vodka business is skyrocketing, and E is broken up with his pregnant girlfriend Sloane. Again. Now that Ari is studio-head, he wants Vince to star in his next movie. However, Vince will only do so if he also directs, which Ari reluctantly agrees to. After a year, Vince goes over budget which worries Ari and the movie funder (Billy Bob Thorton) who sends his son Travis (Haley Joel Osment) to check on things in Hollywood. Meanwhile E tries to deal with his love life, Turtle tries to get with Ronda Rousey, and Drama deals with a sex tape.
This seems like the plot of one of the episodes of the show, but what do you expect? How else do you make an Entourage movie? If you try to fit a whole season into one movie, you get criticized. This film got negative reviews for being basically a longer episode, so in reality the film should've been prepared for negative reviews when it was being written. This film is specifically for fans of the show. Not everyone will like it because not everyone liked the show. However it is fun to sit and pick out as many celebrity cameos as you can. It isn't a perfect movie but it isn't meant to be. It is an enjoyable experience if you don't focus too much on it.
