The World's End Review

Edgar Wright in 2004 created Shaun of the Dead which was the start of a trilogy dubbed The Ultimate Three Flavors Cornetto Trilogy. It continued in 2007 with Hot Fuzz and concluded in 2013 with The World's End. All films are directed by Edgar Wright and star Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. All of the films saterize a certain popular film genre. Shaun of the Dead combines the zombie genre and comedy, Hot Fuzz combines the action genre with comedy, and The World's End combines science fiction with comedy.

In the summer of 1990, Gary King (Simon Pegg) and his four friends Peter (Eddie Marsan), Oliver (Martin Freeman), Steven (Pady Considine), and Andy (Nick Frost) graduate and decide to try "The Golden Mile" which is a pub crawl. They have to visit 12 pubs in their town and drink a pint of ale in each. They never make it and everyone but Gary grows up. 20 years later, Gary forces the gang together to try again. When they get back to their town, they notice that everything is significantly weirder and that is where all of the hijinks begin.

The plot summary is short because I can't find any way to explain the plot without giving too much away. In my opinion, this movie is so much more funnier than Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead. The others are funny but this one is different. The cast has great chemistry especially Pegg and Frost. This film is different than other science fiction comedies because it's so wacky and zany. There is no other film like this one. There isn't much more that I can say without spoiling anything so you just have to watch it and judge it yourself.
